A NIOS school to be built in Fort which will cater education for regular students as well as special children.
In order to help the kids with reading, writing and learning disabilities, A major breakthrough decision came from Aditya birla group to provide education for special children by purchasing seven stories of a complex near CST railway station to built school for special kids.
The students suffering with any type of studying disorder can join The Aditya Birla Integrated School. The initiative to open such a school was the brainchild of Neerja Birla wife of Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman Av Birla group of companies.
The building in Fort was earlier girls school with a student strength of 162 or 165 was taken on lease by Neerja, chairperson of the Aditya Birla Education Trust to fulfill her long time project to start a school for special kids .
Zirak Marker, who treats special children, once asked her that if she was interested in opening a school for kids with studying deformities . she agreed at once and the idea for brought into reality .
The atmosphere of the school will be helpful for the special children and it will be affiliated to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). She said “We will be charging fees, though a couple of scholarships will be offered. The school will open in the second week of June and its timings will be 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. We want to have a low student-teacher ratio. I think we will have 120 to 130 children in all. All seven floors of the building, around 25,000 sq ft, will be used for the school”.
The pattern of teaching in the school will be divided into two categories, general approach and individualize, depending upon he type of disability the student has in learning. The institute all promises to provide various types of therapies to help the students learn faster and easier.
Mr Sarvesh Sonkar Chairman of SS coaching which is one of the most prominent NIOS coaching institute in India named praised this warm and heart touching gesture for special kids by Neerja Birla wife of Kumar Mangalam Birla ,chairman ,Av Birla group of companies and said that he would himself be taking such initiative in the near future.
