Admission in different streams 1, 2, 3, 4 NIOS Open School

The admissions in these four streams are mutually exclusive i.e., learner can only opt for one of them.

NIOS Stream 1 : For all Learners/ Freshers

• Applicable for all Learners.
• The admission is open in two blocks in a year.
• The examination is conducted in April/May, for Block 1 Learners and October/ November, for Block 2 Learners.

NIOS Stream 2 : To Appear in Oct- Exam to Save Precious One Year

For unsuccessful/failures of recognised boards to appear in Oct- exam to save precious one year.

• The learners who had appeared but could not clear or who were eligible but could not appear the Public Examination of Secondary/Senior Secondary Levels from any recognised Examination Board for the same subject combination in which they had appeared.
• The learners of this stream will be eligible to appear in the October-November, Secondary/Senior Secondary Public Examinations of NIOS Board.

NIOS Stream 3: On-Demand Examination System (ODES) at Secondary Level

For unsuccessful/failures of recognised boards to appear through On-Demand Examination System (ODES) at Secondary Level.

• This stream is open for admission through out the year.
• The stream includes learners who have already passed Secondary from any recognized Board and want to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for updating their qualification or
• Learners who had appeared but could not clear or who were eligible but could not appear in the Public examination of Secondary level from any recognized Board in the same subject combination in which they had appeared and want to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS at Senior Secondary level.

NIOS Stream 4: On-Demand Examination System (ODES) at Senior Secondary level

For unsuccessful/failures of recognised boards to appear through On-Demand Examination System (ODES) at Senior Secondary level.

• This stream is open for admission through out the year.
• The stream includes learners who have already passed Senior Secondary or above.
  from any recognized Board/University and want to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for updating their qualification or.
• Learners who had appeared but could not clear or who were eligible but could not appear in the Public examination of Senior Secondary level from any recognized Board in the same subject combination in which they had appeared and want to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS at Senior Secondary level.
